Victoria usually has talented buskers performing at the Harbour. But for one special week each year buskers from around the world travel here to perform in the annual Buskers Festival.
The Moss Street paint in is one of my most favorite things about Victoria in the summer. For an afternoon, the entire street from the Art Gallery all the way to the ocean (about eight blocks) is covered with Art displays, demonstrations, food vendors, and eccentric people from all walks of life.
Recently my nephew Kaiden turned 3…. This is how we celebrated together.
Recently I was able to co-pilot a harbour to harbour flight from Vancouver to Victoria… It was awesome! Learning how to fly a plane, has since been added to my bucket list. Pilot Caleb makes it look pretty easy!
Ska Fest is definitely one of my favourite times of year in Victoria! This is a video I captured of the crowd singing Don’t let me down performed by The Aggrolites feat. Lynval Golding from the Specials.
This is how you love someone when they are feeling overwhelmed with life. It’s harder than it looks to practice in real life…. I’m working on being a better support for my friends by trying to observe and listen more instead of trying to “help” by providing opinions or advice. I cringe when I imagine how many times I’ve inadvertently hurt someone’s feelings or made them feel judged because I was expressing my own perspective rather than actively listening and being a compassionate witness… :-/
Here’s to practicing compassion and unconditional love for as long as it takes until I get it right!
Seriously. I’m so easily amused by fireworks, I can’t help but grin from ear-to-ear every time I get to watch a show.
